LITERATURE BEGINS
IN A LANGUAGE.

EVERY LANGUAGE
HOLDS A WORLD.

We build bridges that connect them. Antonym Global Publishing strives to be an international literary bridge for new voices and diverse cultural traditions — a publishing house where every language has its place, every story finds new ways to be read.

Collage of global literary landmarks — the Statue of Liberty, Big Ben, a pagoda, a globe and an open book — representing Antonym's reach across languages

Antonym Collections, based in Kolkata, India, has built a reputation as a well grounded literary translation powerhouse, translating literature from Indian and international languages into English, Bengali and Assamese through its publishing operation in the form of books and periodicals.

Antonym Global Publishing extends The Antonym Collections' work in literary translation beyond the languages spoken in the Indian subcontinent, building bridges between Indian languages and literary traditions from around the world. What began as an exchange between Indian languages and Spanish has grown into a wider network of collaborations — working with publishers across Mexico, Colombia and Spain, Bangladesh, and partnering with organisations like the National Book Trust, India, to bring Indian voices into new linguistic markets.

Alongside this outward exchange, Antonym Global Publishing brings world literature inward, working with translation grant bodies and foreign publishers — including collaborations connected to Norway, Turkey, Iran, and Ukraine — to widen the range of stories reaching readers in new languages.
